Short of the Monarch, the Nike Air Pegasus 2k5 might be the truest “dad shoe” in the Nike archives. Luckily for it, during its decade-plus time off the shelves, the aesthetics it was unabashedly molded in have circled back around, leading last years’ announcement of their return to be met with wide anticipation. Now at last transitioning into the mainline once again, the Nike Air Pegasus 2k5 emerges clad in a jade tinted “Sea Glass” & “Chrome” colorway.

As with most Y2K throwback kicks, chrome plays a (literally) central role on this shoe, landing on the bite-sized Swoosh on the either side. Outside of that, though, this colorway relies heavily on a tranquil blend of neutrals, running the gambit from an ecru “Phantom” on the outsole to the “Sea Glass” that dresses a majority of the shoe and lends these their name. Though they’re decidedly intended for streetwear in their retro run, a full length Air Unit under the sole means they hold onto their original trail functionality. The hype around their return may just make that harder to stomach now than it was in 2005.

The Nike Air Pegasus 2k5 will retail for $150, likely releasing via Nike.com and select retailers in the coming weeks.

In big news for a contemporary model, the Nike Air Max Plus Paris Saint-Germain folds in the storied club’s colors with Air Max Day on the horizon.
