One of the more seismic announcements in 2023, Edison Chen’s CLOT ended their relationship with Nike, severing ties that stretched back almost two decades and over thirty unique pairs. Naturally, eyes and ears turned towards what he and the imprint had in mind moving forward. While collaborations like the CLOT adidas Superstar or CLOT Crocs provided some insight, the brand is staking out on its own by unveiling the CLOT PARABOLA.
The company describes the silhouette as a reflection of “elevated streetwear,” an atmosphere abundantly clear from the jump. Cut from the same cloth as a Common Projects Achilles or similar premium staples, the PARABOLA presents as easily worn and easily digestible at first glance. However, a closer look reveals some heady inspiration in their construction. The titular geometric curve manifests heavily on the side profile, where wavy stitching outlines the pronounced plush collar and mudguard, bleeding onto the midsole and carving out a debossed section in the process.
Underfoot is where this model wears its strongest branding, each shoe holding half of an encircled CLOT logo on its outsole, revealed in full when placed side-to-side. Two debut colorways were shown at ComplexCon Hong Kong, an all-white released to the public and an all-mint only available for F&F. Those plain designs were clearly a conscious choice, with part of CLOT’s booth dedicated to letting consumers customize their own pairs after purchase.
The CLOT PARABOLA is currently available at select JUICE locations, with a wider release online currently expected for May. As of right now, a retail price is unclear. Below you can find official images of the CLOT PARABOLA, along with selected stills from CLOT’s presence at ComplexCon Hong Kong.
Along similar lifestyle lines, the adidas Spezial SS24 collection was just unveiled for an April release.
