As we all begin to collectively dream of warmer weather and waterscapes, the Air Jordan 1 Low is right there with us. Embracing a bright colorway, the latest edition of the shoe takes a true amphibian approach.
The back half of the shoe is where the design choice is fullest on display, with water droplet graphics dotted around the Swoosh, collar and heel cap. Printed onto those leather sections, the droplets end up flush with the rest of the shoe rather than embossed above it. Nonetheless, it’s certainly an inventive addition to a silhouette we’re all very familiar with by now, and adds some summery punch in an unconventional way. Utilizing color-blocking reminiscent of the Air Jordan 1 “Heritage,” the shoe splits evenly between white and red, including a velvet sockliner that imbues some plush detail on the interior.
Though two isn’t enough for us to say conclusively, this is trending towards being a major Summer design theme for Jordan Brand, with the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Gatorade” embracing the same exact aquatic approach.
The Air Jordan 1 Low will be available in GS sizes, likely arriving in the coming weeks. As of writing, their retail price remains unclear.
Elsewhere for JB, the Air Jordan 5 “Reverse Metallic” emerged for the first time, trending towards a Fall 2024 release.
