Sneaker News At long last, the Air Jordan 11 “Columbia” is finally due for a retro release. Confirmed to drop on December 11th, 2024, this original colorway from 1996, famously worn by Michael Jordan during the 1996 NBA All-Star Game, will be available to the masses in the “remastered” true-to-the-original construction that debuted in 2016.
The “Columbia” colorway is ostensibly a nod to Michael Jordan’s UNC Tar Heels days as it combines a clean white, powder “Legend Blue”, and black. This North Carolina color-scheme is as much of the Air Jordan folklore, owning status as any other black/red or white/red Air Jordan in history.
This first look at the Air Jordan 11 “Columbia” reveals a white patent leather mudguard, leather upper, a Legend Blue Jumpman logo, and black interior lining. The outsole features that distinct blue tint that has been a topic of debate over the years; purists are certain to scoff at this feature, although many will point to the poor yellowing qualities of the older translucent soles as a reason to embrace this updated feature.
The annual Air Jordan 11 release in the Holiday season is the most produced pair of the year for Jordan Brand as the goal is to get these on the feet as many people as possible.
