Matthew M. Williams x Nike MMW TRD Run 6
While the brands Matthew M. Williams have varied in the time since, his relationship with Nike has been a constant since 2019. Last adding an entry to their shared history with a pair of Air Force 1 collaborations, he’s added a 6th silhouette to their canon with the Nike MMW TRD Run 6, first teased as a part of his Nike MMW SS24 Yoga collection.
As with that set of AF1s, the colorway here is muted and staid, a comprehensive “Triple Black” debut look. The model, however, is anything but. A split sole underfoot is the first thing of note, with an Air unit planted in the frontmost jagged section. While there are some changes to the overall sole shape, the resemblance to the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% is stark, sharing the same segmented composition and the additional traction plate that stretches upwards to the point of the toe.
Up top, while it’s hard to judge the exact hardware at work, a wide lace imparts near translucency, only interrupted by graphic overlays that make up the eyestays and continue around the collar to the heel. Some of these choices may be reflected elsewhere in the Nike running catalog, but the combination of the all-black outfitting and the segmented sole both carry through the designer schools of thought that Williams is a veteran of.
As of writing, we don’t have any concrete release info surrounding this silhouette. Considering the release of the Yoga collection last week, it seems likely that they’ll make their debut in the coming weeks. In lieu of that, enjoy a detailed look at the Nike MMW TRD Run 6 below, with images coming from Overkill.
