The ties between American and Chinese basketball get stronger by the year, and sneaker companies have played a huge role. Chinese brands like Anta and Li-Ning now sponsor NBA athletes in the states, and Nike and Jordan continue leading the charge among American brands overseas. While the latter Beaverton banner hones its market presence through concept stores and Guo Ailun PE’s, Nike Basketball maintains focus on its partnership with Chinese High School Basketball League.

Just a week after we heard news of two new “CHBL” GT Cut Academy colorways, the Zoom GT Cut 3 joins the brand’s growing “CHBL” collection. Official images showcase a balanced mix of gold and black atop a white base, with the former color symbolizing power, longevity, and wealth in Chinese culture, surely popular aspirations among youth hoopers. Notable details include a geometric Swoosh, gold-speckled midsole, and Chinese typography on the heel.
