Matt Varga The X-Men are nearing peak popularity once again, debuting in the MCU with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and recapturing cartoon fans with X-Men 97. So why not add some footwear options to capitalize on that moment? Marvel creatives surely thought the same way, tabbing Reebok to bring their beloved cast of characters to an upcoming collection.
Each shoe maps the character’s appearance in X-Men 97 1-to-1 onto their silhouettes. Wolverine’s yellow, black and blue takes to the Classic Leather, slightly amended with a black suede swatch extended from the eyestays. Those with a keen eye will note angled, geometric patterns on the heel cup and midfoot overlay, mirroring Howlett’s horned mask design. Gambit instead takes to the Reebok Club C, a fitting model for him given the trench coat look he’s most famous for. Consistent with that, a classy combo of black and brown suede builds the foundation for this edition, but bright hits of neon pink and purple animate the design throughout.
As of writing, the “Gambit” and “Wolverine” pairs are the only ones confirmed by retailers for release. However, judging off of past Reebok collab collections that spanned up to half a dozen pairs, it’s possible more characters enter this collective canon. For now, these two pairs will retail for $90 and drop on May 2nd. Ahead you’ll find official images of each shoe with respective “Where To Buy” sections leading you to the product page on drop day.
Staying in the collaborative spirit, the Jordan Jumpman Jack serves as easily next week’s biggest release.
