The Nike SB Vertebrae TE Nods To The Brand’s Skate Collective “Club 58”

It's all in the details.

The Nike SB Vertebrae TE Nods To The Brand’s Skate Collective “Club 58”

The latest Nike SB Vertebrae might just be the best we’ve seen in the model’s young life. Not only does it achieve a clean aesthetic through soft contemporary colors, it’s a “Team Edition” complete with clever callbacks to one of the sub-brands most consistently recurring design themes.

As with lots of SB product, the real intrigue behind this pair lies in the details. The insoles come with a screen-printed handshake graphic (that a looks a lot like that meme from Predator) with “58” underneath, evoking the collective skate group “Club 58” founded by Nike SB employees and shop owners. A similar handshake imprint adorns the lateral side towards the heel, delivering a more front-facing display of the shoe’s “Team Edition” status. Similar “Club 58” references have appeared on several Nike SB shoes throughout the years, most recently a Nike SB Dunk Low in 2021.

Steering back to the design of focus, the Nike SB Vertebrae TE features an ensemble of understated colors, with “Sesame” and “Melon Tint” displaying most prominently on the sole and tongue/lining. A “Jade Ice” Swoosh adds a subtle departure from tan shades, while a “Coconut Milk” cage matches suede treatments on the toe and heel to complete the design.

Like many Nike SB releases, your best path to securing a pair is to check in with your local retailers. Several skate shops have already begun listing the shoes online, and it remains to be seen whether or not they’ll receive a wide release through Nike. In any case, enjoy official images of the Nike SB Vertebrae TE “Coconut Milk/Jade” below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page for all the latest updates.
