The arrival of new breakdancing and pickleball sneakers backs up that claim, but if you needed more proof, Nike just dropped an all-new $75 volleyball shoe called the Nike Hyperquick.
Naturally, the shoes come with full-length foam cushioning and a grippy rubber outsole, tailored to the sharp maneuvers associated with volleyball. It’s not hard to spot Nike Basketball DNA here; volleyball is played on the same exact surface, after all, and basketball shoes have proven to be a reliable substitute for volleyball shoes in lieu of other options.
When it comes to materials, the Hyperquick sports a simple mesh base, leather mudguards, TPU toe guard, and cushioned nylon collar for added ankle support. Four essential colorways introduce the new model, all of which are available now from nike.com in unisex sizing. Perhaps we’ll see athletes wear the Hyperquick during the 2024 Paris Olympics, which might serve as an explanation as to the timing behind the drop.
