Longtime readers should be well acquainted with Nike’s current strategy when it comes to lifestyle classics at this point. Simply put, Beaverton designers have been hard at work deploying a slate of shoes – mostly under the Sportswear and Air Max umbrellas – marketed as modern interpretations of classic base silhouettes.
While some sneakerheads might not be the biggest fan of this tactic, modern takes on icons like the Nike Dunk, seen here via a new Nike Dunk Low Remastered colorway, most definitely have their audience. Market insight reports might allude us, but given the unapologetically unique nature of all the offshoots we’ve seen in recent memory, such cuts most definitely draw their appeal primarily from a younger audience with a flair for the dramatic.
The latest Dunk Low Remastered achieves a unique aesthetic through de-constructed elements throughout, but the color palette skews toward a more subdued look through a liberal use of earth tones. The overlays and tongue wear “Light British Tan,” while the Swoosh, laces, and sole provide subtle differentiation in “Burgundy Crush.” The base, meanwhile, wears “Coconut Milk” canvas, and the midsole appears in “Sail” to complete the design.
