Y2K hallmarks run rampant.

The Nike Pegasus 2K5 Flares Up In “Sunset”

While the Nike Vomero 5 stands as the Beaverton brand’s strongest appeal to the tech-runner trend, the Pegasus 2K5 has quietly put on an impressive revival campaign throughout the course of 2024.

Opinions are subjective, but the “Sunset” colorway previewed during last year’s SNKRS Showcase stands out as one of the most applaudable looks thus far. If you’re in agreement, you’ll be glad to here that official images just landed, signaling that a release is on the horizon.

As its nickname suggests, the design revolves around a full-length orange/purple sunset gradient that spans the lowermost overlays, peeking behind the ribcage-inspired cage at the quarter. Maintaining focus on that area, the ribbed pattern that begins up top bleeds down into the midsole a la Air DT Max 96, introducing a continuous splash of purple underfoot. Metallic silver Swoosh logos add even more flair on the cage and forefoot, while the rest of the upper presents in black and white so as to keep the gradient the focal point. In adding a slight vintage feel, the midsole comes painted in sail to complete the delivery.

Expect pairs to hit shelves in Fall 2024 (which begins in July) for $150 in men’s sizing. Until then, enjoy official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to scroll through more upcoming Nike deliveries.
