Matt Varga KITH’s foothold in major metro markets is only increasing. The NYC-based imprint will cut the ribbon on its newest location in Malibu this week, and as they’re wont to do, they’re dropping a new set of footwear options for the occasion; the New Balance MT580 and MS1300 minting new collab looks set to drop on July 4th.
Beige canvas underlays are where both kick off, the neutral hues there continued on suede panels above. Peach notes are front-and-center on the New Balance MS1300, that half of this collection relying on a simplified, tonal palette. The MT580 builds off its tri-tone outfit with mauve accenting, no doubt alluding to the sunset/sunrise ocean vistas that Malibu is so famous for.
As KITH so frequently aims to do, this capsule is marked by premium materials, with natural leather closing out the hardware changes on both pairs. Though the brand’s work with New Balance is extensive, the two models on offer here are firsts in that relationship, with founder Ronnie Fieg specifically stating he “needed this [580] silhouette in the catalog.”
The KITH x New Balance MT580 & MS1300 “Malibu” are set to release on July 4th at 11 AM. A KITH draw for both pairs will open on July 2nd. Retail pricing has not been confirmed as of writing, but while we await further details, catch official shots of this latest capsule just ahead.
