First Look At The New Balance Hesi Low v2

Quite a steal at $110.

First Look At The New Balance Hesi Low v2

If you champion New Balance and low-top basketball shoes, there’s good news ahead. Following the debut of the New Balance Hesi Low last year, which stands as the only non-signature low-top available at the time of this writing, official images of the Hesi Low v2 just landed along with a projected Fall 2024 arrival.

Aside from the Kawhi 4, the Hesi Low series is the Boston brand’s only branch to hoopers who prefer a lower height, most of whom are guards who assume high mobility roles on the court. Official images of the Hesi Low v2 reveal design DNA similar to that of high-tops like the Fresh Foam BB v2 and TWO WXY v4, with drastic changes rendering an entirely new shoe. Underfoot, the midsole is completely revisited. We still see slight curvature near the mid-foot, but a TPU heel counter and ridges near the forefoot represent a far cry from the smoother, rippled construction of its predecessor.

Up top, we now see a full-length knit upper with synthetics around the tongue, heel, and toe for durability. The model makes a solid first impression in black/red/white makeup, with an oversized, pixelated New Balance logo stitched within the lateral side. Red hits on the tongue, outsole, and heel portion of the midsole add a bit more, while black laces come with white edges for contrast. FuelCell foam and ABZORB cushioning were incorporated in the previous version, so the Hesi Low v2 should offer those same specs at a minimum.

Pairs are set to roll out in Fall 2024 for $110; a very agreeable price point given New Balance’s commitment to quality in all areas of its business. Enjoy official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview more upcoming pairs by the Boston brand.
