Before new models like the Air Max Plus Drift hopped on the newswire, the Nike Vapormax Plus helped warm up sneakerheads to modern “re-imaginations” of Air Max classics. It’s still just as highly thought of today as it was when it debuted in 2018, and to the pleasure of those fond of the hybrid shoe, new colorways continue to surface fairly consistently.
Monotone pairs have accounted for all releases within the past year or so, and that continues with this “Game Royal” edition. The upper of the Sean McDowell’s Air Max Plus is tweaked with a nylon base, thick TPU overlays that serve as a cage, and debossed detailing throughout, with the original model’s midsole is recycled as a mudguard. Down below, meanwhile, the shoe’s full-length Vapormax sole fulfills a flashy uniform with a matching blue tint.
The introduction of new “re-imagined” Air Max series may open speculation on whether or not Nike plans to retire the Vapormax Plus, but for now, the mainstream sensation doesn’t appear to be leaving us any time soon.
The Vapormax Plus “Game Royal” is available now for $210; Enjoy official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview more upcoming drops from the Swoosh.
