We’ve spilled plenty of ink on Nike’s Olympic efforts, but after it was announced back in April, the Air Jordan 4 “Paris Olympics” has been by far the leader of the pack. With the Opening Ceremony now just a matter of weeks away, that pair’s release too is creeping closer. Official images have just landed in accordance with impending drop.
“Wet Cement” is reportedly the official nickname of this pair, but the inspiration from France remains all the same, taking cues from its urban landscapes in all-encompassing fashion. Neutral grey drapes the AJ4 from heel to toe, moving from light slate in the sockliner through iron tones underfoot.
Carrying the “special edition” subtitle, the Air Jordan 4 “Paris Olympics” makes good on that promise with some notable hardware changes; the traditional netting at the corner and under the laces is instead replaced with suede, mirroring the geometry of that iconic section with an embossed checkered pattern. A speckled back tab and wings round out the design, carrying some serious detailing and setting it far beyond just a “KAWS at home” proposition.
The Air Jordan 5 “Paris Olympics” releases on July 27th via SNKRS and select retailers. Retail is set at $225 for men’s sizing and $170 for Grade School. Catch the full suite of product shots of both editions just ahead. Lastly, keep this article and our Jordan Release Dates 2024 page handy, as we’ll keep both updated with store list info for drop day.
