Though WNBA All-Star weekend brought us some notable headlines (like a continued spotlight on the Nike Sabrina 2), the W will have to wait (for now). With injury holding Sabrina Ionescu out from the 2021 Olympics, the quest for a championship is on pause as she pursues her first Olympic gold. That’s no doubt a guiding light for the latest colorway of her signature, clad in “Metallic Gold” accents.

At this stage, this is expected to be a Grade School only release. Despite that, there’s no denying the distinguished atmosphere that begins on this shoe’s foundation. The mudguard/eyestay panel, tongue and large swatches of the heel are clad in jet black, an unconventional color-blocking scheme that creates serious depth.

Synthetic mesh at the quarter panels does the same, sheer white revealing the FlyWire anchoring tech, a touch that warranted widespread Nike Kobe 5 comparisons. Emblazoned gold accents on the medial & lateral Swooshes and the tongue tag close out this look with some serious pedigree, livening up an otherwise monochromatic outfit.

The Nike Sabrina 2 “Metallic Gold” is expected to land in the coming weeks, retailing for $100 if pricing from previous releases hold. Again, only grade school / big kids sizes are expected for this colorway- check the gallery below for official images if you’re planning to scoop up your own upon arrival.
