For newer fans of the model, it can be hard to keep up with the deluge of Nike Dunk colorways we’ve gotten in the past few years alone. Though time has allowed the wheat to separate from the chaff a bit, there’s still a deep, deep archive of venerated pairs from the 2000s and beyond that long-time collectors are still coveting. A sleeper hit from that era is making a surprise appearance more than two decades later, influencing the Nike Dunk Low “Reverse Maple” that just emerged.

The “Maple” SBs is where our mind went upon seeing this new edition, this pair flipping the light and dark sections in this new execution. However, even without tacit ties to Dunks past, this is one of the cleaner earthy outfits that the silhouette has worn in recent memory. Textured suede coats the entire upper, split between titular “Maple” on the lower sections and pecan-like tonality on the overlays. A swatch of light beige brightens up the overall profile on the Swoosh and laces, but this capitalizes both on the long-standing “gum” DNA of the Nike SB umbrella and the trendiness of autumnal looks in the wake of Travis Scott shoes.

The Nike Dunk Low “Reverse Maple” is expected to join Nike’s Fall ’24 slate, retailing for $125.
