Andrew Rizzo No sneaker brand has relished in the slim shoe trend as much as adidas. The German giant owns an armory of terrace classics, headlined of course by the Samba alongside other trending low-tops like the Handball and Gazelle; three mainstays that have somehow risen to even greater heights in recent years.
Great demand for those models has been met with ample supply, as new styles and colorways continue to surface at a steady pace. Now with eyes towards autumn, adidas taps the Gazelle Indoor for a classy makeover, taken with sophisticated, contemporary colors and appropriate accents/detailing to match. The upper comes crafted almost entirely out of suede, with “Almost Yellow” stripes and a “Preloved Brown” backtab introducing brief instances of leather. The base features a douse of “Maroon,” while the T-toe guard and eyelet strips offer more of the brown shade for a balanced arrangement. adidas also brings metallic gold tongue and quarter branding to this pair, comprising a more premium look and feel to go alongside the seasonal autumn palette. A consistent feature on all but a few Gazelle Indoor colorways, the design is complete by gum soles underfoot, with Trefoil logos incorporated into the tread.
The adidas Gazelle Indoor “Maroon/Almost Yellow/Preloved Brown” ($120) is already available at select retailers overseas, so a broader adidas.com release within the next few months seems likely.
