BAPE Set To Launch New Trio Of Oversized Bape Sta Colorways

The sized-up retooling capitalizes on 2000s aesthetics.

BAPE Set To Launch New Trio Of Oversized Bape Sta Colorways

Though BAPE is never too far out of the spotlight, the culmination of legal disputes between they and Nike cast them into the center of sneaker discourse earlier this year. Overhauls to their core offerings are legally required in the short future, but they’ve shown they are perfectly comfortable changing up classic formulas on their own accord. A perfect example is the BAPE Sta OS, a 2024 invention, wearing sized-up shooting star logos. As it shuffles in alongside regular A Bathing Ape offerings, we’re getting a three-pack of vintage colorways dropping imminently.

In the first few drops for the refreshed silhouette, the Bape Sta OS executed two-tone palettes, chiefly utilizing a tone-on-white formula and allowing the branding change to take center stage. While the Shooting Star bleeding onto forefoot overlays and the midsole still makes a boisterous impression here, some more expressive color choices are pasted alongside.

“Orange/Black,” “Yellow/Green” & “Black/Red” all spotlight vintage design language that marked both Bape’s own early product and the Swoosh’s, from the Air Force 1 to the Nike Dunk. As with any Bapesta release, high-quality leather and synthetic panels combine with a slew of branding touches, from the APE logo towards the heel to spell-out BAPE lettering embossed in rubber on the midsole.

This BAPE Bapesta “Oversized” collection drops via BAPE on August 10th retailing for $300- use the link here to pick up your pair upon arrival. Each are also coming soon to retailers like Sneaker Politics, use this link for those additional channels.
