Andrew Rizzo Kelsey Plum’s career accolades are astounding. The WNBA veteran won back-to-back WNBA championships in 2022 and 2023 with Las Vegas Aces, not to mention All-Star and All-WNBA selections, an applaudable college career, and two Olympics gold medals. Under Armour added Plum to its talent roster in 2022 and has since debuted a handful of player edition kicks for the star. Now ahead of Plum’s 30th birthday on August 24th, the sportswear brand just released two aptly named “Plum” sneakers in honor of its tentpole WNBA signee.
The highlight is a purple and gold Breakthru 5 colorway, taken with gradient treatments, special Kelsey Plum branding, and “dew” droplets throughout so as to emulate the look of a fresh fruit. It’s the same model that Plum typically wears on-court, one that she’s been working hand-in-hand with Under Armour on to perfect and tailor specifically to women hoopers. Notably, it’s the first Kelsey Plum x Under Amour basketball shoe that will actually release to the public, satiating her large following. Pairs are available now in women’s sizing for $135 here.
The other half of a delivery consists of a white, purple, and gold Under Armour Apparition, one of the first sneaker models the brand ever came out with. A trainer for all intents and purposes, the shoe offers Plum fans a way to champion the athlete off the court. Once again, we see gradient overlays and dew droplets spread throughout the design.
