Retooled classics are all the rage for Nike, Inc. Highlighted by the Air Jordan 4 RM and Jordan Spi’zike Low, there’s a growing formula of taking models with long histories and modifying their height and construction. The latest to take to that initiative is the iconic Nike Air More Uptempo, one of the more vaunted retro silhouettes in the Swoosh catalog. Following images of “Panda” and “Triple White” colorways, the Air More Uptempo Low is set to debut this Holiday season in a grey & “Light Crimson” arrangement.

There’s a host of changes made from the parent model to the Air More Uptempo Low, but the flat quarter panel, pronounced plush “AIR” lettering that swells out through it and a rounded collar stand foremost among them. Those differences stand in contrast to both the silhouette’s mid-cut counterpart as well as AMBUSH’s take on a shortened version, the Tokyo imprint instead remaining faithful to the OG construction.

Despite the liberties taken with the new silhouette, there’s simply no denying that it maintains the appeal of the Scottie Pippen favorite, its chunky sole design and forefronting Air technology both in name and execution. The grey & red colorway on display here has proven a complementary look previously throughout the Nike catalog, but here provides a sensible mix between eye-catching flair and everyday style.

The Nike Air More Uptempo “Light Crimson” arrives towards the tail end of this year, likely landing in close proximity to the aforementioned additional colorways. Be ready for a $160 once this pair materializes.
