Refined insoles only enhance the stylistic choice.

This Nike Air Pegasus 2k5 Is Focused On Menswear

More than half a year into the retro run of the Nike Air Pegasus 2k5, we have a pretty well-established sense of what to expect from the throwback runner. Widespread metallic executions and perhaps an accent shade or two as the 2005 silhouette embraces tech runner styles still rampant throughout the footwear world. That precedent makes the Nike Air Pegasus 2k5 “Light Orewood Brown” such a radical pair, swapping out its usual look for grown-up sensibility.

Outside of beige mesh at the very base layer, nearly every additional section over top is given some sort of material refresh. The collar appears in blue jean denim, the cut-out medial cage is instead executed in suede, the weaving brown leather overlays take to textured leather and corduroy peeks through at the tongue and quarter panel.

There’s simply no mistaking that this pair is intended for more mature or cleaned-up situations than mainline cousins. It’s a bit surprising that the Pegasus 2k5 rather than perhaps the Vomero 5 was the choice to test out this new aesthetic, but it’s easy to see the vision regardless of what model took to it.

Check for this Nike Air Pegasus 2k5 at retailers and Nike.com in the near future, retailing for $150 upon arrival.
