Original article posted August 23rd, 2024: Beginning with the Slide at the top of 2023, Nike has spun the one-piece slip-ons into a bonafide product family, now stretching the sandal, flip-flop and of course, the Calm Mule. With consumer demand for comfort-minded styles only growing hotter as time goes on, Beaverton is rolling in their fullest embrace of that yet with a set of fur Calm Mules tapped for this winter.
There isn’t any major twist in how fur comes onto the Calm Mule; the shaggy fabric coats the full interior & exterior of the silhouette, only expectedly leaving the outsole traction untouched. However, one finer detail is also changed alongside, as the typical nylon of the backstrap instead turns to terry cloth, further enhancing the cozy atmosphere. For this fluffy debut, three monochromatic executions are queued up; all-black, all-beige and all-pink (the latter maybe best suited for a Christmas Story marathon.)
