In the legend of Michael Jordan, the word “fear” doesn’t come up very often. Perhaps it’s that dissonance that makes 2013’s “Fear Pack” so memorable in modern sneaker history. Maybe it’s the simple fact that we haven’t gotten many multi-shoe collections that touch its cohesiveness. Whatever you chalk the capsule’s success up to, its Air Jordan 4 gets a re-release this November, and we’re getting our best look yet at the retro effort.
The greyscale, gradient look made this pair the biggest hit of the group back in 2013, and with the consistent status of the Jordan 4 as the Jumpman model de jour, it’ll assuredly recapture that energy this Holiday season. Though not pictured here, these are expected to sport the same narrative touch from their original drop, alternating insoles that read “I’m scared of what I won’t become” and “you’re scared of what I will become.”
With the Air Jordan 3 “Fear” re-releasing in 2023 as a 10th anniversary drop, this AJ4 all but confirms a yearly “Fear” drop, likely culminating with the Jordan 5 in 2025. Eschewing a revival of the same simultaneous three-shoe collection means that the models would line up well with their respective 35th anniversary. For this shoe in particular, this will serve as arguably the final major drop of the Jordan 4’s celebration; only the Air Jordan 4 “Net” is slated for a release deeper into 2024.
The Air Jordan 4 “Fear” drops on November 9th, retailing at $215. Enjoy some closer retail shots included ahead.
