Andrew Rizzo Will the PUMA Speedcat become the next “it shoe” after the adidas Samba? Replacing the Three Stripes classic is a tall task, but not one that PUMA is shying away from. The German footwear brand brought back the original black and red Speedcat colorways earlier this year, and now providing a bit more variety, the cult classic has resurfaced in leather for Fall 2024.
A darling shoe of Formula 1 drivers and European street style, the Speedcat also has a number of celebrity ambassadors. Emily Ratajkowski and Dua Lipa have been spotted rocking pairs, and the model was featured in A$AP Rocky’s Paris Fashion Week showing earlier this year. All promising developments that bolster the Speedcat’s place in the trending genre of slim-soled low-tops.
Two essential, all-leather pairs are on tap for Fall 2024; a simple white/black arrangement and equally versatile white/silver option. Both are available now in Asia and are expected to release globally in the near future for $120 a pop.
