Earth Tones Settle On The ASICS GEL-NYC “Feather Grey”

With autumn on the horizon, ASICS has begun outfitting the GEL-NYC in season-appropriate looks. On top of the GEL-NYC Utility, a new outdoor-minded version of the Sportstyle silhouette expected to debut in the near future, the Japanese brand just released two shaggy suede takes on the standard model; one in “Sport Tan” and another in green shades, shown here via official images.

Most GEL-NYC colorways feature suede overlays, but this latest bundle takes things a step further by bringing piled fabric to the base instead of standard mesh. The official color palette reads “Feather Grey/Truffle Grey,” but in reality, the design balances between green and khaki-colored hues. The outermost paneling sports a soft jade color, while leather treatments on the quarter and tongue take a darker shade. Khaki leather peeks out one layer down, with the shaggy suede base made to match. The midsole organizes all three shades in a balanced display, also introducing a sliver of grey near the mudguard.

Given the unconventional materials at play, the GEL-NYC “Feather Grey/Truffle Grey” retails for $150, a $20 markup from most other colorways. As mentioned, these are available now via ASICS in unisex sizing; see our “Where To Buy” section below for purchase links.
