While it never strays too far from the limelight, Nike is in full court press mode with the Vomero 5 as we enter the new season. A litany of fresh colorways have come across our desk in the past few weeks, both mainline Y2K-style looks and a host of introductory outfits for the new Vomero 5 Roam. In between those two worlds is the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 in black & olive, merging mainline hardware and an outdoorsy overall atmosphere.

The true headline here is the swap from typical mesh to synthetic fabric on the base layer, bringing weather-tested function to Nike’s premier runner. That foundation is steeped in lush olive green, beginning a stealthy composition that bleeds into jet black overlays, including the now iconic quarter & heel cages. The 3M stripes over top and reflective Swoosh are par for the course with the Vomero, but bring eye-catching detail within the bounds of this nocturnal look.
