The ANTA KAI 1 Speed “Twin Flame” Releases September 28th

Kyrie Irving’s first year under ANTA was a successful one. His first signature model with the Chinese brand, the ANTA KAI 1, has received glowing reports from hoopers, and the storytelling behind each colorway has been nothing short of robust. Ahead of next season’s tip-off, Kyrie and ANTA are authoring a new chapter with the debut of the KAI 1 Speed, a lighter version of the KAI 1 proper. As suspected, the “Twin Flame” colorway Kyrie broke out during the NBA Finals will in fact be the first one to release, arriving September 28th.

The design pays homage to the love between Kyrie’s parents, Elizabeth and Drederick Irving, who met for the first time at Boston College. Notably, Drederick is actually signed to ANTA himself and had a heavy hand in designing the inaugural colorway. The purple shade reflects feminine energy for Elizabeth, and blue accents introduce Drederick’s favorite color to the mix, both of which are fittingly married across the upper. Gold detailing is meant to embody generosity and compassion, two principles Kyrie’s parents instilled at a young age, and orange treatments allude to the passion that fueled Elizabeth and Drederick’s success. Naturally, the shoe also features two flame graphics that come together in unison on the forefoot.

The KAI 1 Speed “Twin Flame” ($125) will release via ANTA.com, Foot Locker, and Dicks Sporting Goods on September 28th, 2024. Turn to our “Where To Buy” section below for purchase links on that date.

In related news, Irving recently previewed his upcoming ANTA KAI Tribe lifestyle shoe.
