The Nike Air Max 1 Prowls In “Black Cat”

An essential colorway for an essential shoe.

The Nike Air Max 1 Prowls In “Black Cat”

The long-awaited return of the Air Jordan 4 Black Cat will be one of next year’s most hotly anticipated drops, and that’s saying a lot given all the ink we’ve spilled on top shelf Jordan 2025 releases. Fittingly, Jordan has supplemented its release calendar with a variety of other “Black Cat” shoes expected to trickle out throughout the remainder of 2024, with some making use of on-theme graphics and others simply abiding by the strict all-black dress code. Case in point: the Air Max 1 “Black Cat” (available now on Nike).

Meanwhile, Nike’s lifestyle models are also starting to embrace “Triple Black” colorways ahead of the colder months of the year, with the Air Max 1 chief among them. Shown here via official images, Tinker Hatfield’s icon comes painted in stealthy makeup from heel to toe, giving those who champion all-black footwear another compelling option. It doesn’t feature the same nubuck material as traditional “Black Cat” shoes, but achieves a likeminded aesthetic nonetheless. Black Air Max 1 colorways have always been well within Nike’s wheelhouse, but most pairs feature contrasting Swoosh logos among other slight departures. This pair, however, is as muted as can be.

The Air Max 1 “Black Cat” aka “Triple Black” is available now via Nike.com, commanding a $140 MSRP. See official images below and use the links in our “Where To Buy” section if you’re considering picking up a pair.
