News of the initiative breaking and actual implementation of that strategy was always going to have some latency in between, and for the moment, we’re bracing for a continued stream of AF1 looks down the stretch in 2024. Next up is an Air Force 1 Low with Next Nature branding, bringing classic “Uptown” style with an ecologically-minded twist.
Visually, the “default” color-blocking for Bruce Kilgore’s kicks endures, though off-white “Sail” paints the leather panels to contrast “Canyon Pink” accents on the Swoosh and outsole. What’s certainly not a given is the aforementioned “Next Nature” branding, signalling at least 20% recycled material compositionally. While the AF1 has been rolled out with that “green” hardware before, it’s a continuing signal that Nike is thinking long-term, ushering one of their year-over-year biggest sellers into their foremost embrace of ecological industry.
