Sneaker News Nike is sticking to the Turf side of the Diamond Turf business with this upcoming release of the Air DT Max ’96. Honoring the first-half of the dual-sport superstar’s career in the NFL, this Retro gets dressed up in Dirty Bird colors that will have the South booming.
The upper is claimed by a black nubuck overlay, with the signature shredded design making way for a silvery-grey tumbled leather beneath. The same shading is seen on the heel where Sanders’ iconic 21 jersey number is embroidered — the first such DT Max ’96 with the honorary detail. Touches of white appear on the subtle Swoosh branding on the ankle, heel, and the mid-foot strap.
Given Nike’s connections to the NFL, it would’ve been a nice touch to see an actual Atlanta Falcons logo on these somewhere, but we digress.
