A major showdown gets some footwear intrigue.

LeBron Teases Nike LeBron 4 “Eggplant” Cleats For Ohio State Players

Two teams will enter undefeated, but only one team will enter with the King’s blessing. Ahead of the colossal Big Ten matchup between 5-0 Oregon and 5-0 Ohio State, LeBron James is fully furnishing his home team with special edition cleats to hopefully help them earn a W in style.

The LeBron 4 “Eggplant” is clearly the reference point here, reprising the colorway first released in May. The foremost canvas for Nike’s football PEs, the Vapor Edge has no problem adapting to this heavy duty look, with the Foamposite material and reflective finish both easily printed atop the typical cleated foundation. To further ensure accuracy to the original and simultaneously drive home James’ ohio connections, his 23 logo lands out on the tongue in all black.

This reprises a “tradition” started in 2023 with the LeBron 4 “Graffiti” cleats, themselves reprising one of the years’ biggest LeBron retro releases. In accordance with that drop, these are expected to remain a player exclusive pair. However, a rise in high-heat on-field wear means perhaps a public launch in the future isn’t entirely out of the question… (Deion Sanders cleats & Kobe 6 “Grinch” cleats stand at the forefront of that wave.)

Check out the official teaser image just ahead, and keep an eye out during Saturday’s Oregon-Ohio State game to catch the Buckeyes sporting these PE pairs.
