The Nike Air Alpha Force 88 Resurfaces In Black

Despite a Billie Eilish collab, the Air Alpha Force 88 has made little noise since Nike brought it back at the start of 2023. We’ve gotten hit with only three colorways in 2024 thus far, all of which sport original or OG-adjacent makeup. This new black and grey colorway breaks the mold, set to release Holiday 2024.

Official images reveal a full black leather upper, white Swoosh, and grey piping around the quarter and collar. To the uninitiated; the Alpha Force debuted in 1988 when the NBA dress code required that shoes were at least 51% white. Thus, even through simple black colorways are common fodder nowadays, the Alpha Force’s introductory run featured only four white-dominant options. Other notable elements include a forefoot strap and retro “AAF88 FORCE” tongue branding, the latter of which is matched by orange Nike logos on the back portion of the collar and outsole.

If you’re looking to add a dash of 80s hoops nostalgia to your rotation, these release Holiday 2024 for $140 in men’s sizes. See official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview more upcoming Nike shoes.
