The Jumpman is the greatest signature athlete logo of all time, and it’s not particularly close. First utilized in 1985 and finding its way onto the Jordan 3 in ’88, the iconic silhouette of Mike flying through the air set a high bar that’s yet to be rivaled by any other subsequent signature logo. This upcoming Jordan 1 Low for women pays homage to the photoshoot that birthed the insignia, set to release on October 24th.

Unlike the Jordan 1 Skyline, which features a sunset gradient akin to the background of the Jumpman photo, this AJ1 Low delivers an inverted take on “Bred” makeup. Flipping the original colorway on its head, the low-top features cyan patent leather on the toe box, Swoosh, and heel. The rest of the upper is comprised of white leather, while an all-black sole lives underfoot. Tying the theme of the delivery together, the insoles feature two polaroid images of Mike’s dunk, one of which is pre-developed.

Importantly, the Jumpman’s true origin has been the subject of contentious debate. Before Nike shot the now iconic MJ photo, Jordan performed an awfully similar dunk for a LIFE Magazine photoshoot wearing New Balance shoes.

In any case, the women’s Air Jordan 1 Low “Polaroid” releases via Nike.com and Jordan retailers on October 24th, retailing for $125. Enjoy detailed images below and take advantage of the purchase links in our “Where To Buy” section on that date.
