The below article was originally published in October 2024.

When will we see Nike slow production of their classic models? An investor call earlier in the year revealed that Beaverton had plans to curtail staples like the Dunk and Air Force 1, but the deluge of new looks has kept up in the months since that news. However, it’s hard to argue with the latest edition of the AF1, revamping one of the most notorious colorways in sneaker culture with new carbon fiber tooling.

We all know the connotation that goes along with all-black Air Force 1s, and along with it, these kicks sport the sturdiest build we’ve seen yet. Notably, the hardy textile has been referenced on Bruce Kilgore’s design in recent memory, but this is its first appearance in all of its ballistic glory. Draping the upper entirely, the appearance of this build for Fall/Winter is fortuitous, imbuing a new sense of hardiness without compromising the street style that’s made “Triple Black” the enduring look it has been for decades.

As a true general release, expect Nike’s Carbon Fiber Air Force 1 Low to materialize at retailers and Nike.com in the coming weeks. Pricing information hasn’t yet been announced, but plan for a slight premium on the regular $110 MSRP.
