In hindsight, the widespread adoption of the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 as a part of the tech runner trend made an offshoot model all but guaranteed. Just over a year and a half after the start of the model’s renewed retro, the “Roam” retooling is close to making an entrance, and we’ve got a venerable deluge of looks as its November 1st debut nears closer.
“Mink Brown” and “Medium Olive” combine on the latest Vomero 5 Roam to join that crop, advancing the spate of neutral looks that have already graced the nascent silo. An additional defining principle is the 50/50 split between the Vomero’s original upper and the added layer of weatherized textile, the main change that begets its shift from Spring/Summer to Fall/Winter. Fully closed seams, flush layers, and a stacked heel complete the new hardware.
With the Vomero 5 proper already nearing a point of saturation (see “OG” colorways sticking around on shelves), it remains to be seen whether this winterized edition can keep up the runner’s momentum through the colder weather ahead. One thing’s for certain, though — you’ll have plenty of options to choose from if you’re eyeing up this remodeled silo.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Roam model hits the market on November 1st, retailing for $180. We expect that retail price to hold for this “Mink Brown” edition, but it’s unclear whether this pair will be released that day or if a later 2024 launch is expected.
