Independent magazine and apparel brand HommeGirls is set to release its first ever Vans capsule on October 24th, and the partnership couldn’t be more appropriate.
To the uninitiated; HommeGirls exists to champion femininity through a menswear-inspired lens, bolstering the principle of ambiguity in fashion. Vans is a company that’s thrived in that department for decades, with several styles cemented as footwear mainstays for both men and women.
For our purposes, the capsule includes two Vans Sk8-Mid colorways. HommeGirls touches down with puffy sidestripes akin to the Knu Skool, complemented by elongated tongues meant to be worn down as lace covers. One colorway cleans up in versatile black and white, while the other comes in off-white with HommeGirls’ periodic table “Hg” logo factored into a checkered quarter. Both shoes come with co-branded tongue tags and thick HommeGirls-branded laces for good measure. Looking at the capsule as a whole, additional inclusions include boxer shorts, a skateboard-embroidered tank, a vintage-wash long sleeve tee, and ribbed crew socks.
As mentioned, the inaugural HommeGirls x Vans capsule releases October 24th and will be available at otw.vans.com. Expect an MSRP of $140 for the two Sk8-Mid colorways in question.
