The HAL Studios x ASICS GEL-Kayano 20 “Bone” Releases On Thanksgiving Day

Updated November 25th, 2024: The HAL Studios x ASICS GEL-Kayano 20 “Bone” will release on ASICS on November 28th at 11 AM ET; the MSRP is set at $200.

Australian creative house HAL Studios and ASICS are poised to check off the second half of their GEL-Kayano 20 collaboration in short order. After being teased all the way back in January, the “Malt” colorway finally released in late October 2024. Now a few weeks later, the “Bone” colorway is gearing up to release broadly on November 14th.

The HAL Studios GEL-Kayano 20 draws inspiration from the space age era, embracing 1950s and 1960s design language through sleek lines and unique materials. Merging both form and function, HAL ditches traditional laces in favor of three hook and loop strap closures.

Compositionally, the shoe features an open mesh base and pebbled recycled leather across the overlays and strap. The “Bone” edition keeps things as simple as possible, with a white base and midsole clashing with black overlays for stark contrast. Naturally, aside from the added lace straps, the tech specs behind the GEL-Kayano 20 remain unchanged. A TRUSSTIC support system delivers underfoot stability, while a GEL midsole provides shock absorption and all-day comfort.

Following a pop-up at Hong Kong’s Hypefest, the HAL Studios x ASICS GEL-Kayano 20 “Bone” will release online via halstudios.net on November 14th. Budget for a retail price of $200 if these are on your wish list.
