The New Balance 1000 Continues Its Run In “Dark Olivine”

Can the New Balance 1000 rival the mainstream popularity of the 1906 series? That’s certainly a tall task, but the circa-1999 runner has steadily grown in prominence since New Balance brought it back in early 2024, speaking directly to devotees of the Y2K trend. With autumn in full swing, the Boston is touching down with “Dark Olivine” colorway that’s perfect for workwear-centric fits.

The titular hue accounts for the overlays and midsole, the former of which are comprised entirely of leather. A “Magnet” mesh base continues the dark color scheme, complemented by a blacked-out New Balance logo and outsole. Lastly, yellow New Balance 1000 branding on the tongue, heel, and lateral forefoot adds welcome contrast. Taste is subjective of course, but New Balance heads on social media have been quick to call this the best 1000 colorway we’ve seen to date. Given the shoe’s versatility and fall-friendly makeup, it’s not hard to see why.

The New Balance 1000 “Dark Olivine/Magnet” will release via New Balance and retailers in November 2024, carrying an MSRP of $150. See official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page for more.
