Original article published on November 15th, 2024:The Teddy Santis-designed New Balance FW24 “Made In USA” collection ends with the New Balance 998. Here we have the “Incense” colorway, one of two November 2024 arrivals alongside the “Navy.”
Vintage aesthetics loom large on the tongue, which differs greatly from your average 998 when it comes to both materials and branding. Traditional pebbled leather is dropped in favor of smooth fabric and exposed foam, complemented by a throwback New Balance 998 tag. Light blue lining comprises the interior of the shoe, balanced out by yellow hits around the heel and toe box. The quarter and toe overlay, meanwhile, appear in premium tan nubuck.
