“Royal” and “Smoke Grey” Combine On The Nike Air Max 1

Complementary tones on tap for Spring.

“Royal” and “Smoke Grey” Combine On The Nike Air Max 1

It may not be celebrating a major anniversary, but it’s been a big year for the Air Max 1, highlighted by a Kai Cenat assist on its “Low Poly” colorway and playing a heavy role in inspiring the 3D-printed Air Max 1000. However, the thing that’s elicited the most AM1 coverage from us in 2024 has been its metronome-like consistency in delivering mainline looks, something the upcoming “Smoke Grey / Royal” colorway helps tap into.

As always, the original tri-tone blocking of the “Sport Royal” or “Sport Red” looms large over this pair, kept intact despite some changes in pantone. The titular “Smoke Grey” provides the foundation on a combo mesh and suede build, contrasted well by a flash of bright “Royal” blue on the Swoosh and the wavy navy mudguard. Though perhaps understated, you can count on this colorway to accomplish what the model typically does; some classically-styled footwear both in hardware and palette, delivering a sensible option as we look ahead to Spring.

The Nike Air Max 1 “Smoke Grey / Royal” doesn’t have a set release date; instead, expect these landing on Nike.com and at local store shelves in the coming months. Retail is set at $140.
