OBEY is well-documented as one of the more impactful brands in the history of streetwear, but footwear is a seldom explored vertical for the Shepard Fairley-founded imprint. Further, the heritage brand has largely shied away from the most prominent players in the industry; only their adidas collaboration in 2018 attempted such a task, with previous endeavors into the category primarily centered on smaller or independent skate brands.
Now, OBEY is set to launch its largest collab sneaker capsule with Reebok’s help. CEO Steve Tarnasky said about the collaboration: “Reebok’s classic silhouettes provide an ideal canvas for OBEY’s design perspective and graphic language.” To that point, three of the Boston brand’s classics are given a militaristic overhaul, beginning with an olive and black rehash of the Club C, leaning into a classier side with leather linings. Jump to the low-cut BB4000 II for a more outdoorsy take, replacing its typical lace units with metal hiking eyelets, furthered with deep burgundy suede and rope laces.
Finally, the Reebok Premier Road VI appears (strengthening a recent push for the product line via the Reebok LTD Premier Road Ultra), sporting the same utilitarian bend as its peers in black, red and white. Each shoe sports the requisite dose of co-branded detailing, seen on the tongue and sidewalls of each shoe. A full set of collaborative apparel drops alongside each shoe, with the full line pictured above.
The OBEY Reebok collection, including the Club C, BB-4000 II, and Premier Road Plus VI release on December 4th ($100, $110, $120, respectively.)
