Original article published November 20th, 2024: Aimé Leon Dore and Porsche are back at it again. The New York City streetwear brand and iconic German auto manufacturer have reprised their long standing partnership with another Teddy Santis-designed car that will be on display at the Aimé Leon Dore London flagship this November. For our purposes, ALD also just teased its latest New Balance collaboration.
One can’t properly appreciate the shoes before dissecting the car first. Arriving November 22nd-23rd to ALD London is the Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 993 Turbo, the fourth generation of the iconic Porsche 911 series, taken with “Mulberry Green” paint, a brown leather and lambswool interior, and custom brass gear knobs. Fittingly, the New Balance 993 is the accompanying sneaker of choice.
The shoe features what appears to be ultra soft suede on the overlays and tongue, resembling the Porsche to a tee. Bright yellow sock lining makes for a balanced color variety, while we can assume Aimé Leon Dore branding appears on the tongue and heel. Taste is subjective of course, but many will agree this is ALD’s best New Balance collaboration in recent memory. The shoe’s premium “Made In USA” materials are in perfect harmony with the luxury of Porsche, comprising a true standout joint effort.
These likely aren’t an official collaboration with Porsche, but are suspected to release as part of a larger Porsche x ALD apparel and accessory capsule (potentially exclusive to ALD London on 11/22-11/23). ALD hasn’t floated solid release information at the time of this writing, but know that this page will display all updates as they come in.
