FAMU Receives Its Own Nike LeBron TR1 PE

The Rattlers get the first PE of James' latest silo.

FAMU Receives Its Own Nike LeBron TR1 PE

We’re no strangers to colleges receiving special edition swag from the Swoosh (literally a day before this news, the Trojans got a USC Kobe 6 cleat). However, Nike gifting a fresh version of the LeBron TR 1 to Florida A&M athletes is a bit more noteworthy than your average PE.

For one, it solidifies the Swoosh’s focus on HBCU schools, seen with their yearly Yardrunner series, itself spawning the Air Force 1 “VUU Panthers” via program alum Dex Robinson. Charitable efforts come alongside a variety of increased product spotlights, with this years’ Air Jordan 1 Low “Howard University” a major highlight in that regard.  However, this also marks the first special make-up for the LeBron TR1, a silhouette already notable as the King’s first step into off-the-court footwear.

Though the mix of all-white body and pine/orange detailing will assuredly remain exclusive to Rattler athletes, perhaps this gives a sense into how the LeBron TR1 can spread its wings palette and blocking-wise in the future, diverging from the mostly monochromatic looks that’ve marked general releases to date. Catch images of this PE pair included ahead.
