Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro “Black/Gold” Releasing Fall 2025

The newly revitalized model stretches into '25.

Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro “Black/Gold” Releasing Fall 2025

Kobe Protro shoes remain one of the biggest sneaker storylines year-over-year, refreshing the “can’t miss” energy surrounding basketball shoes that was once the biggest driver in the hobby. Because of that, Nike has kicked off bring-back efforts for several new Kobe models over the past few years. The latest to receive that treatment is the Kobe 9, and colorways have hit the newswire consistently since notching a “Black/Gold” outfit for Fall 2025.

Though the Kobe 9 in its original run took on plenty of nocturnal colorways, black leading the charge on this pair makes this edition a bit more of a head-scratcher. The Kobe 9 “Fundamentals,” though a high top, would broadly fit the bill if this revives an OG look, and as one of the defining series of the modern Kobe line, a “Mambacita” pair isn’t out the question, either.

More generally, this marks a long-arching continuation of the Kobe 9 Retro, kicked off with the dual “Halo” colorways, set to mark its next pair with the Kobe 9 “Christmas,” and already tabbed for a major 2025 with the “What The” Kobe 9 and Kobe 9 “Beethoven.”

All that said, we’re not making final judgments on this pair until we get additional info regarding its layout and inspiration. At this stage, the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro “Black/Gold” is expected to arrive Fall 2025 with a $210 retail price.
