Nothing will ever top the Nike Kobe 6 “Grinch” as the best Christmas Kobe sneaker ever, but 2014’s Kobe 9 Elite comes close. Good news: it’s officially returning on December 12th, 2024. Read on for full details, images, and a breakdown.
A Full Breakdown
The Nike Kobe 9 Elite “Christmas” first launched in December of 2014; boasting one of the boldest, most strikingly stand-out colorways in the Nike Kobe saga, these high-top sneakers were designed to celebrate the December holiday using the innovative ninth model of the series. For the first time ever, Nike is releasing the silhouette under its Protro program in which the sneaker is updated with modern materials to better fit today’s game.
The Kobe 9 “Christmas” features an all-red upper with white Flyknit threading underneath the primary red overlay. Black Swoosh logos are in place t o match the exposed carbon fiber plating on the midsole, while a festive green appears on the nine strikes at the heel-a detail that signifies the Black Mamba’s achilles injury.
The outsole features a camo-like array of red and white hues, while green once again pokes out on the exposed foam at the heel portion of the bottoms.
