Copper Foamposites History
The Air Foamposite One “Copper” originally released in 2009; it is inspired by the color of the penny, which was also the nickname of Anfernee Hardaway. Hardaway, who started his career as a superstar player for the Orlando Magic, had one of the most popular Nike signature shoe lines in history. The Nike Air Foamposite One is considered to be his most iconic shoe.
The Copper Foamposites originally released in 2009, and re-issued for the very first time in 2017. Now, Nike is releasing the shoes yet again as the Foamposite One model continues its uprise in popularity. Below is a detailed look at the 2024 Retro version.

A Brief History of the Nike Air Foamposite One
The Nike Air Foamposite One originally released in 1997 for $180. Releasing only in a royal blue colorway, these futuristic basketball shoes were originally deemed a failure, but later gained a cult following for its avant-garde design. Created largely by Nike designer Eric Avar, the Air Foamposite One exploded in popularity over the years, reaching a pinnacle with the release of the Galaxy Foamposites.
