The Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Converse relationship is beginning to heat up. Since news of their partnership broke in 2020, and his role was increased in 2024, we’ve been patiently waiting for a first look at the superstar’s signature shoe. While we’re sadly still left awaiting that update, the Boston brand is pushing on in the journey by unveiling his signature logo.
The brand’s animation showcases the new emblem emerging from a vat of liquid metal, carrying a symmetrical, glyph-like shape that works in his #2 number and his initials in curvilinear fashion; a lowercase A appears in the lower half, with a reflected G contained in that same section and an S delivered through the wavy overall shape.
In the time since inking his Converse deal in just his second year in the league, the Canadian product has established himself as both a top 5 player in the league and one of its most stylish off-the-court, a combination that adds a ton of intrigue and anticipation to what his signature shoe will look like. Additionally, it’ll cap off Converse’s re-entry into basketball, an initiative that SGA has already assisted, minting a special makeup of the Converse Weapon and sporting their performance models, including the BB Trilliant CX throughout 2024.
While we’re hoping there’s a quick turnaround between this teaser shot and a full-blown unveiling, expect further updates on the Converse SGA partnership in 2025. Check out a detailed make-up of the new Shai Gilgeous Alexander logo included below.
