Jordan Brand’s campout-themed Jordan 11 Legend Blue ads have been plenty entertaining, but as far as storytelling goes, you could argue that BSTN beat the Jumpman at its own game. In partnership with motorsports brand FAT International, the European retailer commissioned a custom Porsche 911 Dakar inspired by the iconic original Jordan 11 colorway.
BSTN tapped soccer star and longtime Air Jordan fan Leroy Sané for the campaign, who just so happened to be born during the Chicago Bulls’ historic 72-10 run in 1996 (the season Mike wore Jordan 11s, of course). As for the car, BSTN and FAT didn’t spare any details. In addition to a good amount of BSTN, FAT, and Jumpman logos, the wrap features “95” text in honor of the year the AJ11 came out and black/blue “carbon fiber” detailing throughout, tying in with the shoe’s revolutionary carbon fiber plate.
All that aside, the most compelling part of the project is the fact that Michael Jordan is a well-documented car aficionado. Those who’ve seen The Last Dance need little overview, but MJ did in fact own a Porsche 911 at one point in time (rumor has it he lost it in a golf bet). That’s all to say these are likely to get the GOAT’s seal of approval.
Steering focus to the shoes, the Legend Blue Jordan 11 is scheduled to release December 14th, 2024 in full family sizing. Our “Everything You Need To Know” article will be pinned to our home page until then.
