With Vanessa Bryant’s blessing, Kobe Bryant shoes have continued to helm Nike’s basketball division since the Mamba’s passing. While the Kobe 4 and Kobe 8 have been the Beaverton brand’s models of choice throughout 2024, it appears the next twelve months will see focus shift to other signatures; the Kobe 9 Elite chief among them.

Following “Halo” high and low-tops and the upcoming Kobe 9 Christmas, Nike plans to bring back more Kobe 9s from the model’s original 2014 run. Now joining the Kobe 9 Protro Beethoven in that department is the “Moonwalker” colorway, currently expected to Protro in 2025 according to new information shared by sneakermarket.ro.

If word is true, the upcoming Protro release should take after the 2014 colorway to a tee (pictured below). To the uninitiated; the “Moonwalker” nickname stems from the shoe’s outsole, taken with clear tread and a grey moonrock-inspired print underneath. The rest of the shoe cleans up in “Hyper Grape” and “Cave Purple,” save only for a metallic silver Swoosh, black lining, and black carbon fiber treatments on the midsole.

No firm release date has been mentioned at this stage, but know that this page will update with any and all new information as it comes in. Enjoy official images of the 2014 release below in the meantime.
